Custom domain and domain join

Verify your company domain to prove ownership and let colleagues join automatically.

Verifying your domain does two things: it proves your organization owns it, and it unlocks domain join — letting anyone who signs up with a matching work email join your organization automatically.

Not yet generally available

Custom domain verification isn't surfaced in organization settings yet — the entry is temporarily hidden while the feature is finished. The steps below describe how it works once it's enabled.

Verifying your domain

Set the domain

Once custom domain is enabled in organization settings, set your custom domain there. It must be unique across Vidext — one organization per domain.

Add the DNS record

Create a TXT record at _vidext.yourdomain.com containing the verification value shown in settings (it embeds your organization's ID).

Verify

Trigger verification. Vidext checks the DNS record and marks the domain verified. DNS changes can take a little while to propagate — if verification fails immediately after adding the record, wait and retry.

Domain join

With a verified domain, enable domain join to let new sign-ups with matching email addresses become members automatically — the right setting for a company-wide rollout, instead of sending hundreds of invitations. Keep it off if membership should stay invitation-only; people can still request to join and be approved individually.

Think before enabling domain join

Domain join trusts your email domain as the membership boundary. Enable it only when "anyone with our email address" is exactly who belongs in the workspace.
