Custom domain
Serving the learning home on your own hostname, and its status today.
A custom domain lets your organization's portal answer on a hostname you own, such as learn.yourcompany.com, instead of the Vidext address.
Not available from settings yet
The Custom Domain page is hidden from the settings menu while the feature is finished. It is admin-only, and it does not cover pointing your hostname's traffic at Vidext. Talk to the Vidext team before you plan around a custom domain.
How verification works
Verification proves that your organization owns the hostname.
Set the hostname
Enter the hostname on the Custom Domain page. A hostname can belong to only one organization across Vidext.
Add the DNS record
Create the TXT record the page shows: a record at _vidext. followed by your hostname, with a value that contains your organization's ID.
Verify
Choose Verify. Vidext looks up the record and marks the hostname verified. DNS changes can take a while to spread; if verification fails right after you add the record, wait and try again. Changing the hostname later resets verification.
Once a hostname is verified and its traffic reaches Vidext, requests to it open your organization.
